Evolutivo and Mautic; dancing together. Presentation of an integration limit.
Our initial goals for the integration were very ambitious:
We started with the bidirectional synchronization of information and working daily with Mautic itself. Getting experience with the application and understanding its limits, its strong and weak points.
The option to synchronize contact and company data allows us to generate automation events within EvolutivoFW with which we can create records of all kinds, in addition to a wide variety of other automations.
Then we added the possibility to hook into the Form Submit Event
which gives us the possibility of creating business opportunities from Mautic at the time of receiving a form from the web.
We learned how it captures events from external websites and documented how to add new events to Mautic and reached a point where we understood that our initial goals were not correct, so the objectives of the project have been reoriented.
At the start, the objective of the integration was to get both applications to overlap and share functionality extensively. After better understanding the functionality of Mautic, we have understood that the correct path is to use each application for what it is designed for.
Mautic is a tool to manage the generation and nurturing of leads. EvolutivoFW is an application for the business management of a company. This functionality includes commercial management with lead tracking, the generation, and management of business opportunities, budgets, and other elements of a company's commercial functionality. Mautic does not cover this commercial part, only the generation, and follow-up of leads. At the moment in which a lead has to be converted into a business opportunity, Mautic does not continue, it does not do it.
Thus, we have understood that the correct way to carry out this integration is to use each application for what it has been created for. We use Mautic for all online and web marketing efforts and we communicate that effort to EvolutivoFW at the time the lead is ripe for your business initiative.
In other words, we have managed to create a tandem that together covers most of the management of a company, from the online and semi-online marketing effort to post-sale monitoring, going through all the intermediate steps, both commercial and project management.
Today, I would not continue any further integration efforts between both applications. I don't think Mautic is a tool that is worth investing in. It is a great tool for what it has been designed for and very useful. I would recommend it to carry out any online marketing efforts. When it is finished with the lead generation send the rest of the process to Evolutivo, SalesForce, vtiger CRM, Hubspot, or wherever you manage your business.
In this line of thought, we will continue to enhance the evolutivoFW functionality to generate email templates and send mass emails in line with the mass actions roadmap.
So, this post is to officially close the Mautic-EvolutivoFW integration project.
